Helambu Gosainkunda trek

Helambu Gosainkund trek takes you to breathtaking mountain scenery embracing rapturous glimpses of snowy peaks including Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, verdant fields, smoothly flowing rivers and waters spilling from top of hill, along with cultural enthrallment. Incredible trek combines two famed but diverse trekking destination Helambu, closest to capital city Kathmandu; which is patchwork of religiously and culturally elegant rustic villages whereas another Gosainkund nestled on northeast of Helambu comprising chain of sacred high altitude lakes such as Gosainkund, Nagkund, Bhairavkund, Suryakund, Saraswatikund where thousands of pilgrims’ flock each and every year during special festival of Janai Purnima to take dip on icy water of  holy Gosainkund lake which was created by Lord Shiva piercing the trident according to Hindu mythology.

Helambu Gosainkund trek starts from Syabrubesi; which is jumping point of trek, after almost 9 hours’ audacious drive from Kathmandu along curvy, narrow and winding roads of mountain side. Then follow steady ascending trail along Langtang Khola that runs amidst dense forests of bamboo, pine and rhododendron to reach Gosainkund at elevation of 4380 meters from sea level then indulge on the beauty unfurled by glaciated lakes at backdrop of snow clad mountains. Then cross Lauribinayak la pass reaching the highest point of trek at height of almost 4610 meters before trekking on downhill trail to arrive at culturally enlivened trekking spot Helambu to make trekking once a life time journey.  


Itinerary Overview

Day One: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day Two: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi at elevation of 2581 meters.

Day Three: Journey from Syabrubesi to Sing Gompa along gradually descending trail.

Day Four: Trek from Sing Gompa via Lauribinayak la to Gosainkund taking five hours.

Day Five : Move to Ghopte at elevation of 3430 meters from Gosainkund on seven hours’ trek.

Day Six: Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang taking about five hours.

Day Seven: Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani consuming six hours.

Day Eight: Trek from chisapani to sundarijal then return to Kathmandu from Sundarijal on one hours’ drive by private vechiles.

Day Nine: We drive you to airport on the basis of your scheduled flight.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu

You will be warmly welcomed by our representative at Tribhuwan International Airport and transferred to hotel by private vehicle.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

Trek begins after nine hours’ drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi heading to north along the road on bank of Trisuli river. You can go either by public bus or private vehicle but private vehicles are safe and highly recommended. You can observe Chilime hydropower plant on Syabrubesi designed on run-of-the river model.

Day 03: Syabrubesi to Sing Gompa via Dursagang

We pass through schools and gompas climbing the trail through the oak forest until we reach Dursagang. We gently ascend for some distance then walk along the flat path to reach Sing Gompa for overnight stay.

Day 04: Sing Gompa to Gosainkund via Lauribinayak la

You move from Sing Gompa on five hours’ trek crossing Lauribinayak la following rugged trail with dramatic views of several snow clad mountains to reach Gosainkund, sacred lake generated by Lord Shiva piercing the glacier with his trident.

Day 05: Gosainkund to Ghopte

We trek to Ghopte climbing the trail until we reach Lauribinayak la then drop down to gradually to Phedi and move ahead along the trail that runs to Ghopte.

Day 06: Ghopte to Kutumsang through Tharepati pass

We ascend the barren hill to reach Tharepati viewpoint for observing DorjeLakpa, Jugalhimal, Gauri Shankar then descend through lush forest of rhododendron, oak and pines to reach Kutumsang for overnight stay.

Day 07: Kutumsang to Chisapani passing Gul Bhanjyang

We continue trek to reach Chisopani, at first descending the trail that leads to Tamang village of Gul Bhanjyang then ascend the trail and lastly descend to PatiBhanjyang, a large Tamang village.

Day 08: Chisapani to Sundarijal and return drive to Kathmandu

We leave Chisapani heading along the trail that runs through green meadows and cultivated fields to reach Sundarijal. Then we return to Kathmandu from Sundarijal on public vehicle.

Day 09 :Return Flight

We drive you to airport on the basis of your scheduled flight.

 - A porter for every 2 guests who can carry total up to 20 kg and if only one guest then the guide will be single and will help carry up to 10 kg.

Accommodation: You would be accommodated at Nagarjun homestay with facilities of hot water, western toilets, electricity, television, free WIFI during Kathmandu stay. And offered to stay at teahouses with facilities granted by teahouses during trek.

Meal: You would be offered breakfast, Nepali meal at homestay during time at Kathmandu while on trekking you would be provided Nepalese meals three times a day during trek.
