The 11 day Annapurna base camp trek is ideal for those who are a little bit short on time but still want to experience the Annapurna region and catch a glimpse of mount Everest. This section of the Annapurna trail ends at what is sometimes used as the first base camp for those planning to climb Everest. Beyond that base camp,, there are no Homestays, no Tea houses, you have to set up your own camp.
Before you reach base camp, you get to pass through several villages, see amazing terraced farmlands. Cross suspended bridges over canyons, , cascades and waterfalls. As you climb higher and higher, you see the vegetation and landscape change from lush bamboo and rhododendron forests to rocks and bushes as temperature gets cooler.
The cost of this Annapurna Base Camp Trek includes a guide who is key to your full enjoyment of the trail as he can detect the first symptoms of altitude sickness and take appropriate measures, if required. Also, he can remind you to put on sun screen lotion and wear your sunglasses as the thin air, although cooler, also lets in more UVb radiations which cause sun burn. We want you to concentrate on the beauty of the journey, not worry about the details of looking for the right place to eat or sleep, how far is the next Tea House, etc... Just enjoy the ride.
